Former Hearts of Oak playmaker, Winful Cobbinah has described reports that he has been sentenced to a jail term in Albania as false.
On Monday, there were several reports of the Ghanaian midfielder who features for FK Tirana in the Albanian top division been handed a four months jail term for forgery.
But the player in a video circulating on social media has denied the claims as widely reported in Ghana.
Winful Cobbinah has been caught in what he described as a ‘political’ issue after been awarded an Albanian passport which was processed within eight hours.
Per the Albanian laws, a foreigner must spend at least five years in the country before he’s eligible for a passport but this was not the case for the nibble footed player.
The Albanian president who is noted be a strong supporter of FK Tirana is believed to have fast-tracked the move which appears to have irked the opposition party.
Winful Cobbinah has since dominated headlines over the decision which could have seen him play for the Albanian national team.
