Bankroller of King Faisal, Alhaji Abdul Karim Grunsah has urged the Ghana Football Association to cancel the 2019/20 football season.
Since the outbreak, the coronavirus pandemic, the owner of the Ghana premier league side has been outspoken about the need for the season to be cancelled.
President Nana Akuffo-Addo in his last address gave approval for individual non-contact sports to return but football will have to wait until 31st July 2020.
Grunsah in an interview with Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM maintains that cancelling the league is the best option.
“Cancellation is the best option for us because we can’t copy that of the Germans and do you think we are wiser than the French and those who have annulled their leagues?,” Alhaji quizzed.
“I agree with Nana Addo for extending the ban on football activities, where are we rushing to play our league too, people will say I support cancellation because of my club’s position on the log but that’s not it, we need to prepare well so we can perform in Africa” he explained
Meanwhile, King Faisal are winless after 14 games in the Ghana premier league so far, lying bottom on the league table.
