American Rapper, J Cole has practiced with his Patriots Basketball club ahead of the commencement of the Basketball Africa League on Sunday, May 16th 2021.
The J Cole’s participation in the NBA-FIBA tournament was confirmed earlier this week prior to undergoing compulsory quarantine session before joining the Patriot team for his first-ever practice with side.
The multiple award winning rapper, is a keen basketball player who featured in the Celebrity Games during the All Star Weekend.
However, the tournament which was scheduled earlier was delayed due to the pandemic outbreak and will now replace the former Africa Basketball League, the Pan-Africa club competition which has been ongoing since 1971.
The inaugural competition will involve twelve national champions from Egypt, Angola, Nigeria, Tunisia and Senegal. The rest of the participants who will come from Madagascar, Mozambique, Mali, and host Rwanda will go through a qualifying round.
There are three groups in total with the top two together with two best third-place teams qualifying to the next round.
BAL will have 26 games in all with the first tip-off scheduled for Sunday, 14:00 GMT and will run until May 30th 2021.
