The 26th edition of the Ghana Universities Sports Association(GUSA) games came to a close with the University of Cape Coast (UCC) emerging champions.
Having commenced on January 3rd, the event saw UCC claim a medal haul of 64; comprising 28 gold, 23 silver, and 13 bronze medals.
Host, University of Ghana came second with 12 gold, 21 silver, and 19 bronze medals.
The University of Education-Winneba, University of Development Studies (UDS) and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology came third, fourth and fifth respectively with a total medals haul of 17, 15 and 3.
Despite making an appearances, University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ), Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), University of Professional Studies (UPSA) and George Grant University of Mines and Technology concluded the event with no medals whereas the University of Energy and Natural Resouce (UENR) managed to register a bronze medal.
The bi-annual sports festival saw competitions in various disciplines like football, tennis, volleyball, handball, basketball, among others.
