The Black Meteors will hope to secure their first win of the ongoing U23 AFCON when they play host nation, Egypt later this evening.
Ghana snatched a point in the first game against Cameroon after a 1-1 stalemate on Friday.
Following the 1-0 win against Mali in the tournaments opener, a victory for Egypt against Ghana will secure them semifinal berth making the game a tough one for Coach Ibrahim Tanko and his charges.
Regardless of what happens in the other group A game, the Black Meteors can’t afford to lose to the host country if there would have any chance of qualifying for next year’s Tokyo Olympic games.
Egypt will miss the services of Nasser Maher who has been ruled out of the rest of the tournament suffering a shoulder injury in the win against Mali.
