After several rumours and transfer speculation, Ghanaian international Thomas Partey has finally completed his move to Arsenal.
The former Atletico Madrid midfielder joined the English premier league side on transfer deadline day after Arsenal activated his 50million release clause.
Partey has in recent times been subject of several transfer discussion on the Ghana football and media scenes over his proposed move to join the English giants.
Interestingly, Black Stars head coach Charles Akonnor waded into the fray urging the midfielder to snub offers from the London side and stay at Estadio Metropolitano.
“Honestly, I wouldn’t want him to move to Arsenal because, with Atletico, he will always play Champions League football. His position is guaranteed and he will always play, ” Akonnor is quoted back in August.
Well, his advice literally has been ditched by the Black Stars midfielder who has penned a deal that will reportedly keep him at the Emirates till summer 2025.
In a race against time, Thomas Partey completed the first phase of his medicals in Madrid by flying over to London to undergo necessary requirements before the final confirmation.
