Former Hearts of Oak defender, Benjamin Agyare has revealed there were no talks between himself and the club over a contract extension.
The centre back together with Joseph Esso and three other first-team players were released from Hearts on Friday.
There have been numerous reports that some of the players had to leave after failing to agree on a deal with the rainbow club.
But Agyare in an interview on Accra-based Happy Fm said there were no talks to extend his stay.
It wasn’t my fault not to extend the contract but from Hearts of Oak”
“I never negotiated any deal with the club lets makes the fact clear. It was on Friday they called me to come to the office and started thanking me for my service. So I realized they didn’t want to work with me again”, he told Joe Debrah.
That notwithstanding, the defender expressed his appreciation to the Hearts faithful for their support and opened the doors for a future stint with the Ghana premier league giants.
The 26-year-old joined the club from Heart of Lions in 2018. He made just 6 appearances in the truncated 2019-2020 Ghana league season after being sidelined due to recurring injuries.
