Hearts of Oak head coach Samuel Boadu is optimistic about keeping wantaway midfielder Benjamin Afutu.
The midfielder who is currently out of contract has been linked with a move abroad.
However, the Hearts of Oak top hierarchy continues to talk with the midfielder and his representative over a new deal to keep him with the Phobians.
Although the Phobians are yet to tie the player to a new deal, Hearts’ gaffer Samuel Boadu says he would do anything possible to keep the player.
He admitted in an interview that Afutu’s absence was felt in Hearts 2-0 win over CL Kamsar and would do what he can to keep him.
“No one can say Afutu’s absence wasn’t felt. Even off the field of play, he is very disciplined and I love the boy so much and I wish he’s here with us. For Afutu, no doubt I will do my possible best (to get him back),” Samuel Boadu told Happy FM.
Despite the player’s contract running out, Hearts registered the midfielder, which means he can feature in the CAF Champions league if they agree to an extension.
