Samuel Boadu: Hearts’ coach talks CAF Champions League, Gladson Awako and expectations

Samuel Boadu has said that football is a dynamic sport hence the need to regularly update his knowledge to keep up with the games demand.

The former Medeama coach led Hearts to the double last season after winning the Ghana premier league and the MTN fa cup, a feat he believes has whet the club’s appetite faithful to demand more success.

After being crowned the best coach during the Ghana Football Association Awards on Monday, he admitted that the continental competition was new to him. However, he expressed his determination to make an impact.

He called on the club supporters to rally behind the club as they were ready to give their all to make the Hearts of Oak and Ghana proud.

“We have to fight a good fight. We have the league and the FA Cup, hence expectations are high and we have to live by that. But   football is dynamic and anything can happen,” Samuel Boadu said.

He further suggested that, unlike Gladson Awako, who has rich experience at the continental, he has a young technical team and playing body who have limited express in Africa.

According to the coach, the team are readying themselves and confident of overcoming the task ahead.

“They believe that I would bring unity to the team and that is what made the transformation for us to succeed. I want to develop more quality players for the club who would be capable of playing for the various national teams. This would make me proud,” he added.
