After virtually two years since playing full throttle in the English premier league, Ghana international Daniel Amartey marked his return with an impressive showing against Manchester City on Sunday.
The defender started in a three-back formation for Leicester City as they defeated Manchester City 5-2 at the Etihad Stadium.
Amartey’s performance did not go unnoticed as he received praises from former Ghana skipper, Asamoah Gyan.
The All-time Ghana top scorer in a tweet said “Patience, Character and positive attitude is an important aspect of this our trade called football… it’s been 2 years…welcome back bro, keep your head, I thank God for your life and career”.
Despite being cautioned in the victory against the Citizens, Amartey was a pillar for Brendan Rodgers men on an eventful Sunday tie, Making 24 Passes with a 70% success rate. He won 4 aerial duels while making 2 successful tackles in the process.
With such a performance Daniel Amartey is expected to feature more for the Foxes this season after making just 9 appearances for the side in 2018-2019 English premier league due to recurring injuries.
