With just days to play South Africa in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier, Black Stars head Kwesi Appiah has called for support for the team ahead of Thursday match scheduled for the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.
The Black Stars’ technical head in a post via his twitter account has appealed for Ghanaian support most especially from the media, but this has rather attracted a barrage of responses asking for his resignation from the post.
He said “Afcon 2021 Qualifiers: I believe the Black Stars is the only team we have as Ghanaians and we need to protect and support it together. I believe that if we really want to bring back the love as we all want then a lot will depend on the media.#BringBackTheLove pic.twitter.com/5FzpZe50tM”— Coach James Kwasi Appiah (@CoachJKAppiah) November 12, 2019
This apparently didn’t sit well with some section of Ghanaians on the social media platform who could only question his tactics and player selection, suggesting its best his resigns his post.
Ghana will play South Africa on Thursday, 14th November 2019 before later playing Sao Tome and Principe.
Before then, you can check out some of the responses following the post by the former Black Stars player
