Owner and Bankroller of Tema Youth Football club, Wilfred Osei Kwaku have received huge backing ahead of the ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) in his case against the Ghana Football Association.
Following his disqualification in the round up to the GFA elections last year, the embattled football administrator proceeded to CAS to have the decision by then-Normalisation Committee overturned.
A highly-respected source according to Graphic Sports Online have given strong indications that Osei Palmer will triumph in the ruling.
“Tema Youth is an entity associated with the GFA on its own bylaw and could never be attached to its owner Palmer in legal arguments.
“This is my candid opinion and I think Palmer has a strong case against the GFA. I am sure he will prevail in the ruling because the basis for his disqualification was unconstitutional.”
“Tema Youth and Palmer are different entities in legal terms so it will be difficult to fault Palmer for wrongdoings at his club when you are talking about law”, the source is quoted by Graphic Sports Online.
Should CAS rule in favour of Osei Palmer, Kurt Okraku’s position as GFA will be challenged as there’s likely to be a new presidential election for the association.
Meanwhile, the Court of Arbitration for Sports is expected to give a ruling on the case in coming days as Ghana Football awaits what would be another defining moment in its history.
