Communications Director of Hearts of Oak, Kwame Opare Addo has shed light on the construction of club’s Pobiman Academy Project.
It has been several months since Hearts of Oak officially cut sod for the construction of the project which is expected to have a number of facilities but work is yet to begin, raising questions over when the Academy project will commence.
Opare Addo in an interview with FOX FM refused to be drawn into reasons behind the delay.
“I do not want to use COVID-19 as the reason for the delay of the project. Apart from the items (Pre Fab Items) coming in, a local contractor has to start the grounds work here”.
“The process of awarding the contract and everything, once it is done, that will start here while the items will also fly in”, Opare Addo is quoted.
He also indicated that the club will soon take delivery of a new bus.
“There are a few things we have to go through before we can finally take the delivery of our new bus. It is in the final stages. It will not take long for the bus to be used”.
Meanwhile, the Pobiman Academy Project is expected to house training pitches, a residence for staff, GYM, Swimming pool, among others.
