‘Mythical’ closed-doors see mammoth crowd in Wonders, Kotoko clash

The Ghana premier league second round resumed on Friday with two games played already.

Great Olympics beating Medeama SC 1-0 and Kotoko securing a point away to Techiman Wonders in a one-all stalemate.

However, it was the latter that seems to have generated the most attention following a mammoth turn up of club faithful and football fans to watch Wonders host Kotoko on Saturday afternoon.

Having initially made arrangement to see the admittance of supporters to some match centers in the Ghana premier league, the Ghana Football Association rescinded its decision to state that the league will resume with no fans allowed into the match centers.

This was apart of measure being taken by the Ghana FA to support Government efforts in checking the spread of COVID-19 virus.

Interestingly, that wasn’t the case at the Techiman Park as a significant number of football fans were visibly present at the center to watch the Matchday 18 clash.

It remains unclear who’s in charge of ensuring strict adherence of the laid down safety measures, but evidently, there is more to be done if indeed, Ghanaian football stakeholders are committed towards checking the virus spread in the country.
