Mohammed Salisu put up a solid display for Southampton against Chelsea in his first premier league full debut on Saturday.
The 21-year old defender played a full-throttle as Southampton ended a six-game losing streak with a 1-1 draw against Chelsea.
Having been sidelined for several months since his move from La Liga side Real Valladolid, Salisu made mark his first game for the St. Marys side in the FA cup last week.
He followed up with his first full debut in the premier league for a struggling Southampton side who currently lie 13th on the league standings.
Salisu recorded 54 touches against Chelsea with 7 ball recoveries, 6 clearances, making 3 tackles and winning 2 fouls, according to Squawka Football stats.
Liverpool player on-loan at Southampton, Takumi Minamino scored first for the home side before Mason Mount scored to cancel out the lead as spoils were shared.
Mohammed Salisu became a subject of interests from several clubs in Europe including Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid and Barcelona with reported suggesting Manchester United also showing an interest in the player who made 30 starts in 31 appearances for Valladolid in the Spanish La Liga.
The centre back will be looking forward to a third straight start when Southampton play Leeds United next in the premier league.
