New Ajax Amsterdam poster boy, Mohammed Kudus has been likened to the Barcelona playmaker Lionel Messi.
The Ghanaian international joined Ajax from Danish side Nordsjaeland during the summer has already forged a huge connection with his new side.
Speaking to Ajax Life, Kudus former coach Flemming Pedersen expressed huge admiration for the youngster, comparing his skill to that of Messi.
“I immediately knew that we had exceptional talent in house,”
“After his first season he was already able to go to various clubs in the Premier League, but Mohammed indicated that he did not feel ready for that step. He wanted to master the European way of playing better first, to improve tactically”, Pedersen told the Dutch news magazine.
“In football, you quickly compare a player with another player after a first impression. I couldn’t do that with Mohammed. I had never seen such a type before. ”
“When he dribbles, it looks like the ball is part of his body. That may remind you of the Messi type, but Mohammed is also very strong physically. You can sit on its back, it won’t stop yet. That combination is unique”, he concluded.
Mohammed Kudus joined Ajax in a reported €9 million transfer in July and has already established himself as a fan favourite.
