Medeama Sporting Club has confirmed they will lodge an appeal against the GFA Disciplinary Committee’s ruling in their case against Great Olympics.
In a ruling released on Monday, the Tarkwa side has been deducted six points and fined six thousand Ghana cedis for fielding an unqualified player in their matchday 12 game against Great Olympics.
Part of the statement from the club reads,
“We reject the decision of the Disciplinary Committee and will fight the matter to its logical conclusion.
“We are scandalized by the decision to award boardroom points to our opponents and will not rest until the well-deserved points accrued on the football pitch is restored.
“The club has initiated processes to file an appeal against the bogus and ridiculous decision and will exhaust the internal legal channels”.
The statement added that “the club will also explore other options including seeking justice at the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS)”.
Madeama are first on the Ghana premier league table with 30 points and should the ruling by the GFA Disciplinary Committee stand, the club could drop to as low as 7th place; a point behind Ashantigold and two points ahead WAFA and Bechem United.
