Asante Kotoko had to settle for a point after snatching a point in the dying minutes of their Saturday clash against King Faisal at the Len Clay Stadium.

Kotoko trailed Hearts of Oak by 3 points at the top of the Ghana premier league table and needed to win to put pressure on their arch-rivals, who face Ebusua Dwarfs on Sunday.

However, King Faisal, flirting with relegation, would have none of it as they held the Porcupine Warriors to a one-all draw.

Ibrahim Zubairu took the lead for the visitors in the 15th minute to give King Faisal a one-goal advantage at the halftime break.

Kotoko returned from recess needing to score at least twice to pick up all points, yet King Faisal proved tough customers to keep the host’s attacking line at bare.

After several attempts, Kotoko managed to find the equalizer with barely 10 minutes to end proceedings.

Kotoko forward Francis Andy Kumi scored in the 84th minute to draw level for his side, who continued to push for the match-winner.

Yet either side failed to find the winner as spoils were shared at the blast of the final whistle. The results meant Kotoko will remain second, two points behind Hearts (59), while King Faisal will lie in 14th place with 37 points.
