Since signing a 3-year partnership deal with the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Macron Ghana has faced serious scrutiny about the legitimacy of the firm.
The GFA on Wednesday announced it has signed an agreement with the kit and football manufacturing firm to supply football and bibs worth GHS 1.6 million.
This means the firm will be official match ball partners for Ghana premier league, MTN FA Cup and the National Division one league.
Following the announcement, several concerns have been raised prompting the firms Deputy CEO, Alhaji Karim Sulaiman to speak on the deal.
“We have two official Macron distributors in Ghana, I’m in Accra and the other one is in Sunyani. If you say we are not legit, do due diligence and go to Italy and find out if we are not real distributors of Macron products in Ghana and West Africa”
“Just watch us and let do our work because we have not done anything wrong and the GFA will never give us a contract without doing due diligence, that is impossible,” Alhaji Sulaiman told Kumasi based OTEC FM.
He insisted that Macron Ghana is a legitimate business and will provide quality product to the country.
“We have register two companies in Ghana which represent Macron Ghana (ie. Procal Links Company limited and Koreen Kalaga Enterprise). When you go to Italy and talk about Macron Ghana, they will mention my name. We’ve worked with Macron for over ten (10) years so I laugh when people say we are not legit”
“I’m a sportsman; I’ve played professional football in South Africa for five (5) years so I can’t bring the fake product to my Countrymen in Ghana or any other person for that matter”, the Deputy CEO Concluded.
