Legon Cities conduct Covid-19 test for all players

Ghana premier league side, Legon Cities has become the first Ghanaian club to test its players for the COVID-19 virus.

The testing included all players and technical staff of the club, reiterating their preparedness for football’s return should the government give the green light.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Legon Cities, Fred Agbenyor confirmed this to Accra-based Atinka FM.

“We have conducted a COVID-19 test for all our players and staff and by the grace of God it all came negative”

“How much is $80? If we have done it, then gov’t should support other clubs to test their players too”, the CEO told Atinka FM.

Meanwhile, talks are still ongoing between the Government and the Ghana Football Association over the possible resumption of football.

But the unpreparedness of Ghanaian clubs to conduct COVID-19 test due financial constraints has posed a huge threat for football return in the country.
