Ghanaian winger Christian Atsu provided an assist as Newcastle United drew 1-1 with Football League One side Rochdale AFC.
The 27-year-old who has mostly been used as a substitute this season earned a starting berth in the FA Cup on Saturday but as a left-back.
He provided an assist for the Magpies opener in the 17th minute; a cutback that was neatly finished by Miguel Almiron in the 17th minute.
The former Chelsea player’s assist marked his fourth in all competitions this season, the most of any Newcastle United player.
Atsu lasted the entire game, recording 80 touches on the ball, 42 accurate passes (89%), 10 crosses of which two were successful.
The visitors could not hold onto the lead as Rochdale equalized with 10 minutes left on the clock.
The results meant there will be a reverse fixture but this time at the St James Park.
