Asante Kotoko dropped points at home after playing out a 1-1 draw game against Liberty Professionals at the Baba Yara Sports stadium.

After a goalless first half, the Porcupine Warriors fell behind after Tamimu Muntari striked in the 56th minutes to put the scientific soccer lads ahead on Sunday.

With defeat staring in the face, the home side kept pushing for an equalizer as Richard Arthur could only manage to hit the woodwork with a bicycle-kick in the 70th minute.

Elvis Kyei Baffuor was presented an opportunity to double the lead for the visitors but he failed to beat Kwame Baah in post for Kotoko.

Kotoko ‘new guy’, William Opoku Mensah capitalised on what looked a miscommunication between the Liberty defence to find the net for the host.

With 7 minutes left on the clock, both sides failed to find the match-winner as Liberty Professionals goalkeeper, Ganiwu Shaibu was withdrawn following a collision which led to an injury.

The game ended in 1-1 draw with Liberty playing home to Dreams FC in their next fixture as Kotoko travel to Sogakope to face WAFA in Matchday 8.
