Asante Kotoko has begun talks with Burkinabe forward, Songne Yacouba over a contract extension.
According to reports in Kumasi, officials of Asante Kotoko on Thursday met with the player and his agent to begin negotiations to extend his contract with the club.
Songne Yacouba’s current deal with the Porcupine Warriors will expire in February 2020.
Should Kotoko fail to tie him down with a new deal, the Burkinabe import would be available to speak other clubs, though his agent has indicated the player will favor a deal outside Ghana.
Songne Yacouba was a fans’ favorite during Kotoko’s Africa campaign in the 2018/19 season but a failed attempt by the player to engineer a move from the club in August has left mixed reactions as to whether he should be offered a new deal.
