Ghana forward Asamoah Gyan has joined Indian Super League side NorthEast United, the club confirmed on Thursday.
The 33-year-old former Sunderland forward will join from Turkish side, Kayserispor on a free transfer.
“We are thrilled to have a player of Gyan’s calibre and experience join our squad. He has continuously delivered excellence at the highest of levels of world football and we are confident that he will add a lot of firepower on the pitch here”, the club said in a statement.
Asamoah Gyan is Ghana’s all-time top scorer with 51 goals and has played for a host of clubs across Europe, notably Udinese, Sunderland, Stade Rennes, among others.
He is Africa’s record holder with the most goals in the FIFA World Cup history.
