Matchday 14 of the Ghana premier league concluded on Thursday as Liberty Professionals hosted Inter Allies with Kotoko playing host to Elmina Sharks at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Inter Allies climbed to 10th on the league table after a 3-2 win over Liberty Professionals at the Dansoman Carl Reindolf Park.
The ‘Eleven is to One’ side led 1-2 at half time courtesy goals from Samuel Armah and Victorien Adebayor with George Ansong pulling one back for the Scientific SoccerLads.
Liberty restored parity in the second half as George Ansong registered his second of the day.
Red hot Niger forward, Victorien Adebayor failed an opportunity to increase his goal tally for the season as he missed a spot-kick with a quarter to end the match.
Liberty goalkeeper, Ganiwu Shaibu stood tall to deny the Inter Allies forward.
With just a minute into additional time, Inter Allies scored the game’s winner through Mohammed Zakari to pick all points at the Carl Reindolf Park.
Asante Kotoko played out a goalless draw with Elmina Sharks in the final matchday 14 game on Thursday evening.
The Porcupine Warriors despite dominating proceedings in the first half failed to convert them into goals.
Kotoko were forced into a substitution as Habib Mohammed picked up a knock and was replaced by Abdul Ganiu.
Wantaway striker, Sogne Yacouba was also introduced into the game but that could yield little results as the game ended goalless.
Both teams were guilty of missing goalscoring opportunities but Kwame Baah would definitely count as the hero of the second half as he denied Sharks in a 1v1 situation.
Asante Kotoko now lie 4th on the table, two points behind leaders Medeama SC and Aduana Stars.
Elmina Sharks currently sit in 5th position, three points behind Asante Kotoko.
