Managing Director of Hearts of Oak, Frederick Moore has revealed plans by the 20-time Ghana premier league champions to set a minimum ceiling of $1000 as player salaries.
The MD made the revelation in an interview with Joy Sports indicating that the club is putting measures in place to operate on a self-sufficiency model which will lead to paying decent salaries to Hearts players.
“One of the first things my chairman said to me among other things was that we should aim to raise the minimum salary in the next few years to a $1000 and we are working towards that, ” Frederick Moore is quoted by Ghanaweb.
“That’s where we want to go. We have COVID which has set us back but that should not deter us.
“We have spent a large amount of money and all of it has come from our chairman who has been our bankroller for the last 10 days.” He added.
Meanwhile, the rainbow club will begin their 2020/21 Ghana premier league campaign at home on Tuesday as the play Ashantigold SC.
