Former Hearts of Oak chairman, Harry Zakour has spoken on the club’s trophy drought.
The 19-times Ghana premier league champions are yet to win a major trophy since the 2008-2009 league season.
Hearts came close to ending the drought in the 2017 MTN FA Cup final only to succumbed to a first half hattrick from Saddick Adams as Asante Kotoko carried the trophy with a 3-1 victory.
but Harry Zakour nicknamed the ‘Millenium chairman’ told Asempa FM that fortunes could be changed if the club invests in quality players.
“The problem is the lack of quality players. Things have changed, the players we use to have are not the same today”, He told Accra-based radio station.
“We need to do more to help the club succeed because all is not lost. I believe when we get the right players, the club will start winning trophies as the club use to win [trophies] in the past” Zakuor added.
Harry Zakour was in charge as chairman when Hearts of Oak won the CAF Champions League in 2000.
