The 2019/20 Ghana Premier League entered into matchday 2 with a Friday evening action as Legon Cities hosted Asante Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Two second-half goals from Emmanuel Gyamfi decided the tie as the visitors defeated Legon Cities FC 3-1.
The home side took the lead with just 10 minutes on the clock as forward Paganotis Papadopoulos scored the game’s opener.
Kotoko responded after with some good possession but had to wait till the 35th minute to find the equalizer as Augustine Okrah lifted the ball over an onrushing Fatau Dauda to peg the game 1-1 at half time.
Both sides returned with everything to play for in the second half but it was Kotoko who looked hungrier resulting in two-quick goals for the visitors.
Emmanuel Gyamfi’s brace in the space of ten minutes decided the tie for the Porcupine Warriors who emerged 3-1 winners after the final whistle.
Asante Kotoko will play Berekum Chelsea next with Legon Cities FC travel to play Dreams FC.
