Having been accused of leading the transfer of former Asante Kotoko striker George Abege’s to the club, former management member Edmund Ackah has distanced himself from the deal.
The lanky forward joined the Porcupine Warriors from Kariobagi Sharks for a whopping $24,000, a deal which has since raised eyebrows after a disappointing stay in Kumasi.
Ackah took to Kumasi-based radio station Oyerepa FM to reject the assertion.
“People accuse me of bringing George Abege but have forgotten to also acknowledge me for Justice Blay who is being hailed now.”
“The only role I played was to get a contact in Kenya for the team so they contact officials of Kariobangi Sharks, ” he said.
Ackah went on to accuse Dr Kwame Kyei as the problem fo Kotoko’s woes.
“Nobody should blame anybody for the Financial losses ,he’s the problem not anybody, ” he is quoted to said.
Edmund Ackah last month resigned from his post as management member as pressure continues to mount on Dr Kyei to vacate his position as chief executive of the club.
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko continues to dominate media headlines mostly for the wrong reasons; after payment of several judgement debts, the Kumasi-based side are yet to pay a $240,000 FIFA fine to Tunisian side Esperance for illegally signing Emmanuel Clottey.
