Alphonso Davies meteoric rise to global football recognition after a consistent performance for Bayern Munich has seen him dominate media headlines in recent times.

The left-back has been subject of several journals following his incredible journey from being born in a refugee camp in Ghana to being the face of Canadian football.

On Sunday, things took an unfamiliar thread as Bayern Munich defeated Paris Saint-German 1-0 to win the 2019-2020 UEFA Champions League.

A football fan on twitter @nunguaeminem appear not enthused over how Ghana, particular Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko missed out on the 19-year-old.

In a tweet which was partly transcribed in local TWI dialect, questioned what benefit Ghana is getting from undoubtedly its two biggest club – Hearts and Kotoko.

“So Accra Hearts of Oak and Kotoko mfasuo ben paa na 3wc mmo so Ghana ha?? Tuiii’

Alphonso Davies since joining Bayern from Vancouver in the MLS in January 2019 has gone on to make 29 Bundesliga appearances, scoring 3 and assisting 4 times.

He registered 4 assists and once in this year’s UEFA Champions League and DFB Cup respectively as the Bavarians concluded a treble-winning season on Sunday.

It has indeed been a remarkable year for the young, talented footballer but do you feel his comment is justified, or perhaps just another from an overly-emotional football fan?
