Head coach of Wydad Athletic, Walid Regragui, has tested positive for COVID ahead of the showdown with Hearts of Oak in the CAF Champions League game on Sunday.
According to the Moroccan news outlet, Le360, the trainer will not be part of the WAC technical bench in the first leg tie at Accra Sports Stadium.
As a result, he will join the club’s physical trainer and assistant coach, who were earlier ruled out after testing for the virus.
The news could boost Hearts of Oak, who are looking to make the group stage of the CAF Champions League for the first time since 2006.
That would have to come at the expense of the Moroccan champions, who have started the season on a bright note after winning four and drawing once in the five games so far in the Botola PRO league.
Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco is regarded as of favourite for the competition this season after reaching the semi-final last season.
