CAF CC: 10-man AshantiGold knocked out by RS Berkane

Ghana’s representative in this year’s CAF confederations cup, AshantiGold could not make it to the group stage after losing 2-0 to RS Berkane on Saturday evening.

The Obuasi side were a man down as Musah Mohammed was shown the red card as early as the 8th minute.

The visitors were not deterred as they maintain their composure until the half-hour mark where Issoufou Dayo scored the opener for the host.

It had to take some good goalkeeping from Frank Boateng to maintain the scoreline as Berkane continued to mount pressure in search for the second.

It was Zaid Krouch who found the second goal on the stroke of halftime for the host after numerous attempts to end the half 2-0.

Despite a man short, Ashanti Gold managed to impress as they search an away goal to have any chance of qualifying to the group stage.

The Miners later in the game resorted to shooting from outside the box as both teams attempt to gain superior fair of possession.

RS Berkane held onto their two-goal lead to win the match, meaning they qualify on a 4-3 aggregate, having lost the first leg 3-2 in Obuasi.
