Information reaching Press Sports Ghana indicates that Hearts of Oak has asked Kim Grant to step aside from his position as head coach of the side.
According to sources, the decision was taken after a meeting between the club’s hierarchy with Edward Nii Odoom expected to lead the side whiles Kim Grant awaits his license A certificate from UEFA.
Per the GFA’s club licensing regulations, Kim Grant can not handle the team pending the arrival of his license A certificate.
Report by footballmadeinghana.com suggests that Kim Grant was asked to Edward Nii Odoom as his deputy to serve as a cover but the former Elmina Sharks coach favors an expatriate coach which didn’t sit well with the Hearts board.
As it stands, Edward Nii Odoom will take charge of the club’s training preparations ahead of their Ghana Premier League opener against Berekum Chelsea whiles awaiting the appointment of a substantive coach.
