The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) in a statement signed by General Secretary, Mr. Patrick Johnson has thrown their weight behind Ghana’s Patrick Allotey ahead of his world title bout against Jamie Munguia on Saturday.
Patrick Allotey (40-3, 30Ko’s) will bid to ink his name among eleven (11) other Ghanaian boxers to have won a world title as he fights Jamie Munguia for the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Junior Middleweight championship.
“At long last, our collective dream to get another world champion is yet to happen again”
We know a lot of efforts and money have gone into it to bring you this far. The GBA and the people of Ghana believe in you”, the statement read.
It added, “don’t give up, don’t lose focus and without an iota of doubt, we know you will bring the title to Ghana”.
The bout scheduled at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson will see Munguia (33-0, 26Ko) defend the title for the fifth time since taking the title in May 2018.
