Black Stars head coach, Charles Akonnor has met Manchester City legend, Vincent Kompany during his ongoing tour in Europe.
Ahead of Ghana’s double-header against Sudan in the 2021 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in March, the former Asante Kotoko coach is currently on tour across Europe in a player monitoring exercise.
He’s already met a host of Ghana internationals including Andre, and Jordan Ayew, Jeffrey Schlupp, Christian Atsu and Brentford’s Tariq Fosu.
Akonnor is currently in the Belgium where he’s reported to have met Anderlecht’s Jeremy Doku and Francis Amuzu in a bid to convince them to switch nationality despite playing for Belgium at the youth level.
On Wednesday, the Ghana Football Association posted a photo which captured the Black Stars with Vincent Kompany at the Anderlecht training facility in Belgium.
Meanwhile, Kompany following a hugely successful football career with Manchester City is currently a player-coach at Anderlecht where he joined in 2019.
He won 4 premier league titles, two FA Cups, 4 English League Cup as well as 2 Super Cups during his stay at the Etihad stadium.
