Sports betting group, Betway in collaboration with Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) on Friday, 7th February 2020 held a successful seminar aimed at enhancing sports journalism in the West African country.
The event which came off at the Alisa Hotel in Accra saw a number of ace journalist present including Michael Oti-Adjei, Vice President of SWAG, Maurice Quansah, and the General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association, Prosper Harrison Addo.
Also present was Gary Al-Smith, Nathaniel Attoh, Karela United CEO Elloeny Amande, among a number of sports journalists.
Among some of the issues discussed is the use of social media within the media space, branding, legal ethics of journalism, the need for collaborations as well as capacity-building by journos.
There was also the emphasis on the digitization of the profession and its significance towards the promotion of sports on both the local and international fronts.
Editor for Graphic Sports and Vice President of SWAG, Maurice Quansah hinted of similar programs aimed at promoting sports journalism in Ghana.
The educational seminar first came off in Kumasi before being held in the national capital, Accra.
