President of Berekum Arsenals, Alhaji Yakubu Moro has passed on.
The experienced football administrator according to AshesGyamera.com has been battling illness for some time until passing on yesterday in Accra.
Berekum Arsenals led by Yakubu Moro has been a force to reckon with since joining Ghana’s top division in 2001.
One of the major highlights of the club is reaching the second round of the 2006 CAF Confederation cup where they were eliminated by Petro Atletico on a 2-0 aggregate.
In 2012, the club got relegated to the National Division One League (DOL) and has since yet to return to the Ghana premier league.
Yakubu Moro in July 2020 threatened to take the Ghana Football Association to court if he was punished for a comment he made concerning the disbursement of the COVID-19 relief fund.
He is expected to be buried on Friday per the muslim ‘Adua’ tradition by his family.
