Former professional NBA star, Isaac Edward Austin has been accused of swindling a Ghanaian firm an amount to the tune of $825,000 in an alleged bitcoin scam.
According to reports, the former American Basketball player acted as trustee to two firms IEA and Tudor Trust.
The unnamed Ghanaian firm as a result is said to have transferred 75BTC to Austin under the agreement to pay back the amount with each Bitcoin valued at $11,000 by 3rd July.
The former Utah Jazz and Miami Heat center has since failed to fulfill payments and benefits accrued as stated in the contracts.
He was the owner of Utah Snowbears, an American Basketball Association (ABA) side that went 27-1 in their first season before feud with league officials led to playoff forfeiture and later folding the team in protest.
