With rapidly increasing cases of COVID-19 infections across Africa, the Basketball Africa League has sent a message of support to frontline health workers against the pandemic.
The league in a post via microblogging site Twitter sent a photo of the continent covered with a facemask with a solidarity message.
“The BAL is proud to join @ALIMA_NGO’s efforts to support healthcare workers in Senegal. Thank you to all the heroes on the frontline striving to keep our communities safe!”
Africa has recorded over 720,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 15,000 deaths and still counting.
Africa has recorded over 720,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with a little over 380,000 making full recoveries.
Over 15,000 has lost their lives due to the virus which has disrupted sporting activity globally.
The continent in partnership with the NBA and FIBA Africa was scheduled to have it’s maiden Africa Basketball League earlier this year but had to be suspended.
