Asante Kotoko has completed the signing of Dickson Afoakwa on a deal to stay with Kotoko until 2024.
The marksman joins Kotoko after a successful two weeks’ trial before signing papers on Wednesday in Accra.
Dickson, 23, has been without a club after having his deal terminated by South African side Stellenbosch FC after making only five appearances in his six-month stay.
The forward left Ghana in 2016 to play for Dinamo Brest in the Belarusian Top Division, where he struggled to cement a regular place in his first season at the club. He was later loaned to FC Gomel, where an underwhelming performance saw his contract terminated by the mother club after two seasons.
Since then, he has played for NK Triglav Kranj in Slovenia and Stellenbosch FC.
Dickson Afoakwa will become Kotoko’s tenth signing of the current transfer window as they prepare for the 2021/22 Ghana football season.
