All-time Ghana top scorer Asamoah Gyan has confirmed participation in the Homecoming Tournament organised by the Ho Tennis Club (HTC).
The annual tennis event usually played in March each year was rescheduled to September due to the COVID-19 outbreak which led to the suspension of sporting activities nationwide.
Gyan made the confirmation during an interaction with the media team of the Local Organisation Committee (LOC) of the Homecoming Tournament.
The Ghanaian footballer has been active on the tennis scene in recent times, beating social tennis champion Ismaila Nii Lante Lamptey back in May 2020.
According to a report by Sportsbrat, this year’s tournament will be played in place the annual Asogli Tennis Tournament due to the postponement of the Asogli Yam Festival to next year.
Some notably names expected to participate in Saturday’s event include Vice-Chancellor of Ho Technical University, Prof Ben. Q. Honyenuga, Togbe Adzima IV of Ho, Joseph Narcel Kofi Battah – a nationally ranked player, and others.
