Alexis Sanchez has been told how he’s “stunk the place out” and “not lifted a leg” at Manchester United ahead of his impending Old Trafford exit.

Inter Milan are looking to strike a deal to take the Chilean to Serie A following a miserable spell at United, for whom he has scored just five goals in 45 appearances since joining from Arsenal in January 2018.

Sanchez snubbed interest from Manchester City and signed a remarkable £500,000-a-week deal with United when he joined the club in a swap deal for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and is already believed to have banked around £41million in wages despite his ineffective displays.

And former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan has accused Sanchez of a lack of effort at United, who are believed to have paid out around £8.2million to the 30-year-old for each goal he’s scored.

“The fact of the matter is, Alexis Sanchez has stunk the place out,” Jordan told talkSPORT .

“He has stunk the place out, and I don’t think his attitude has been spot on either.

“You don’t go from a big-time player and game-changer at Arsenal to being a player who is suddenly being weighed down by the expectation of you.

“You wanted this kind of money, and with that kind of money comes expectation and then subsequent to that comes performances.

“Where is the player in all of this? Why isn’t the player doing his job?

“We’re talking about a player who isn’t lifting a leg and is getting £25million a year! It’s lunacy!”
