Chairman of Ho-based Akoefe United, Evans Agbesi has called on individuals and corporate bodies to come to the support of the club as they take steps to ensure the promotion of the club to greater limelight.
The chairman of division two side in an interview with Yuuf Zone Gh maintained that football has become a very lucrative business all over the world but due to mismanagement, lack of vision and proper investment, the game in our part of the world continue to cripple, most especially at the division level.
Evans Agbesi cited many factors affecting the development of the game at that level, with officiating fees posing a huge financial burden on clubs.
He insisted that funding for match officials on matchdays has been a challenge, sometimes even served as a medium to influencing referees which affect the standard of the game.
However, Akoefe United boss appealed to managers of the game to make provisions and allocate budget for match officials in the upcoming season.
The club is expected to seal a partnership agreement with Yuuf Zone Gh in coming days as part of the steps aimed at promoting the club.
