Ahead of Ghana’s double-header against Sudan in the 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifiers, head coach of the Black Stars Charles Akonnor is expected to name his team next week.
The coach arrived in the country after having spent over month outside monitoring regular as well as prospective Black Stars players.
According to an official statement on the GFA website, the former Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko trainer is expected to meet the Black Stars Management Committee on Friday before meeting the press ahead of his maiden team call-up.
Charles Akonnor met a host of the Black Stars players including skipper Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew, Jeffrey Schlupp, Daniel Amartey, among others.
He went on to meet English-born Tariq Fosu, Derrick Lukassen, Francis Amuzu, and french-born Elisha Owusu on a possible switch to feature for the Black Stars.
Next week’s meeting will be the first time CK Akonnor will officially meet the press following his appointment in January 2020.
Meanwhile, Ghana will play Sudan on March 27 before travelling away for the reverse fixture three days later.
