On Tuesday, Ghana secured back-to-back wins against Zimbabwe following a 1-0 win in the 2022 Qatar world cup qualifiers.
The Black Stars have earlier defeated the Warriors 2-1 at the Cape Coast stadium before travelling to Harare to pick up their second win under new Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac.
The win against Zimbabwe means Ghana can continue to dream about making the Mundial next year as they kept within reaching distance of South Africa, who were top before the game.
Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey’s direct free-kick from the edge of the box was enough to seal Ghana all three points.
However, South Africa will regain the top spot with a win against Ethiopia. Ghana has two games left, a trip to Addis Ababa to play Ethiopia before hosting South Africa in the last qualifying game.
However, whoever tops the group will play a 2-legged playoff tie to decide who makes it to the 2022 FIFA World Cup to be hosted by Qatar.
