2021 AFCON: Jordan Ayew’s solitary strike maintains Black Stars clean record

A dominant display by the Black Stars of Ghana ensured a 1-0 away win against Sao Tome to continue with their good start to the 2021 AFCON Qualifiers.

A Jordan Ayew’s strike from the spot in the 48th minute was enough to decide the game that ensured Ghana picked maximum points from the first two games.

Sao Tome goalkeeper, Eusebio brought down Emmanuel Boateng after dropping the ball in his own box as the Congolese center referee wasted no time to point to the spot.

The beauty of the game was somewhat marred by the state of the pitch which was apparently not in a good shape.

The qualifiers will return in August 2019 as Ghana play Sudan in the third group qualifier.
