Despite suffering a man disadvantaged midway through the second half, Elmina Sharks managed to draw 1-1 with Hearts of Oak on Sunday evening.
From the first whistle Hearts of Oak made their intentions clear hitting the crossbar in the 2nd minute before going close on several occasions in the earlier minutes.
However, it was Sharks who drew first blood as Benjamin Tweneboah strike home the game’s opener in the 21st minute to put his side 1-0 up at the half time.
A solid second-half performance saw the visitors saw Victor Aidoo record his third goal of the league campaign.
The former Samartex FC striker beautiful headed in a cross from Hearts skipper Fatawu Mohammed to beat a firmly rooted Sharks goalkeeper.
With Hearts of Oak dominating proceedings in search for their second, Benjamin Arthur was forced into a high tackle which led to picking his second booking to receive his marching orders.
With a man down, Elmina Sharks didn’t look ready to settle for a point as they continued to push their opponent back with some good attacking displeasure.
Man of the Match, James Bissiw had his power-shot fly past the Hearts goal area as his teammates could not connect pass Richmond Ayi who was way passed his goal line.
Hearts of Oak were equally presented decent chances to find the match-winner particularly with the introduction of Patrick Razak in the dying minutes.
Either side failed to score as the match ended 1-1.
